Research Training

The Research Training team oversees the learning operations and strategy development for Brown’s research enterprise. Effective training enables researchers and research administrators to successfully meet the complex demands of research.

Key Areas of Expertise

The Research Training team offers their expertise by collaborating with teams across the research enterprise to identify and execute learning opportunities throughout the Brown research community. 

The Research Training team supports researchers by:

  • Identifying and assessing training and learning needs
  • Consulting with researchers and departments to develop a training and learning plan
  • Designing and developing training and learning content
  • Coordinating, creating and delivering in-person training and learning sessions
  • Creating virtual learning solutions (synchronous or asynchronous), shared templates, resources, job aids, case studies and other training materials
  • Collaborating across the Brown community to optimize the learner/user experience
  • Providing oversight of training and learning attendance, participation and engagement
  • Evaluating the effectiveness and quality of training and learning and identifying opportunities for improvement
