Research Administration Information Systems

The Research Administration Information Systems (RAIS) team at Brown serves all electronic systems and data within the Division of Research.

Key Areas of Expertise

Research Administration Information Systems (RAIS) assists Brown researchers in several ways, providing support in the following areas:

  • Proposal creation in Brown’s electronic grants management system (Huron)
  • External electronic systems such as eRA Commons, research.gov and grants.gov
  • Conflict of interest disclosures and Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) protocol development in InfoEd
  • Business intelligence solutions for Brown department and senior management, such as reporting, visualizations and workflow notifications
  • Development and implementation of Huron, an integrated grants management and Institutional Review Board (IRB) protocol management system

RAIS System Support and Access Tickets

To submit RAIS support or access requests (e.g., adding/removing roles or seeking support for Huron, Coeus, InfoEd, or Sponsored Projects Reporting), log in to OIT Service Center. Please ensure you select the appropriate ticket type for your request, as submitting the wrong ticket may cause processing delays.

Submit a ticket:

  1. Log in to the OIT Service Center.
  2. Select the appropriate ticket type for your request:
    • Access: For system access or roles related to Huron (IRB), InfoEd (Lab Animals), or Coeus (Grants).
    • Support: For technical support, choose either "Coeus/InfoEd" for Coeus or InfoEd, or "Huron IRB" for Huron IRB.
    • Workday: For Grant Manager or Grant Financial Analyst roles. (For other Workday roles or support, use a different ticket from the Workday list.)
    • RAIS Report Request: For sponsored project grant reports (please allow up to two weeks for processing). Workday reports should be requested through a Workday ticket.
  3. If a sub-category is required, review the list to select the appropriate one.
  4. Complete all required ticket details.
  5. Click the CAPTCHA and then "Submit." A confirmation screen will appear, and you'll receive an email with your ticket number.
