Initiate a Research Strategy

Define and refine your research or scholarship themes, brainstorm potential collaborators and resources and survey potential funding opportunities.

When initiating a research strategy, consult the Research Strategy and Development (RSD) team for guidance. RSD members are experts in their field, combining a knowledge of complex research topics with experience in organizational development, workshop facilitation and leadership coaching to support you throughout the research planning and proposal development stages.

Serving as consultants and advisors, RSD staff can help you:

  • develop funding roadmaps that align with your faculty tenure clock;
  • connect with potential collaborators across campus and beyond;
  • develop and review specific elements of a proposal, including scientific and non-science components;
  • facilitate research ideation and brainstorming sessions;
  • understand federal funding streams and develop strong proposals to compete for federal funding; and
  • identify a diverse mix of other funding opportunities, in partnership with University offices such as Corporate and Foundation Relations
