Research Communications

The Division of Research Communications team publicizes the research, innovation, expertise and scholarship of Brown University researchers through a number of traditional and digital channels.

Key Areas of Expertise

The Research Communications team employs writing, publishing, multimedia storytelling, social media promotion, photography and videography to tell the stories of how Brown researchers are driving discovery and solving complex challenges facing our world.

Ongoing communications priorities include:

  • IMPACT: Research at Brown, an annual magazine distributed to Rhode Island officials, foundations, Brown alumni in Congress, advisory and leadership councils, AAU executive leadership, Brown Corporation members and selected Brown University faculty, staff and alumni
  • Research Notes monthly newsletter for faculty, grant-related staff and students
  • @brownuresearch social media channels dedicated to spreading awareness about research, scholarship and experts at Brown

Impact is a magazine devoted solely to the University’s research. It tells the stories of faculty and student achievements, and their influence in solving critical problems in the world through their exploration.
The Division of Research’s monthly email newsletter delivers the latest research updates, shares upcoming training opportunities and workshops and provides grants management guidance and technology transfer insights to Brown faculty, grant-related staff and students.
Communicate your work to raise awareness among peers and the general public, recruit researchers to fields of interest, attract industry partnerships and amplify the local and global reach of your research, innovation, expertise and scholarship.
