The Vice President for Research at Brown University oversees all Division of Research offices and teams on their mission to strategically collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to accelerate the global impact of Brown University’s research and scholarship.
The Brown University technology transfer office, Brown Technology Innovations (BTI), supports the commercialization of technology and research discoveries made by Brown faculty and researchers.
The Research Agreements and Contracting (RAC) team is responsible for drafting, negotiating and managing contracts and agreements in support of research at Brown.
The Division of Research Communications team publicizes the research, innovation, expertise and scholarship of Brown University researchers through a number of traditional and digital channels.
Research Integrity is a group of teams — including Animal Research Compliance, Export Controls, the Human Research Protection Program, Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement, Conflict of Interest and Regulatory Compliance — that partner with the research community to facilitate ethical research guided by governing policies and regulations.
Research Operations provides specialized administrative and operations support across the Division of Research. Team members assist assigned departments within the Division to help achieve department goals.
The Research Strategy and Development (RSD) team collaborates with the research enterprise and Brown faculty to identify research funding opportunities, perform strategic planning, develop research proposals and provide research leadership.
The Research Training team oversees the learning operations and strategy development for Brown’s research enterprise. Effective training enables researchers and research administrators to successfully meet the complex demands of research.
The Sponsored Projects team supports Brown University faculty, students and staff in the acquisition, performance and administration of research projects and programs funded by external sources.
