Division of Research

Find Funding

Leverage the expertise of staff experts to identify internal and external funding opportunities, engage with funding agencies and align your research goals with funding priorities.

The Division's Research Strategy and Development (RSD) team maintains several up-to-date databases of internal and external funding opportunities and organizes workshops, seminars and informational sessions to educate researchers about best practices in grant writing.

Researchers seeking new funding resources and opportunities should contact RSD as soon as possible. With early knowledge of your research priorities, RSD can proactively identify and recommend funding opportunities that most closely align with your research.

The Division of Research manages Brown’s institutional-level internal funding streams, including Research Seed Awards, the Richard B. Salomon Faculty Research Awards, Humanities Research Fund, Core Research Facility Infrastructure Program and Research Achievement Awards.
External funding opportunities include research grants offered through federal funding agencies such as the National Science Foundation, the National Institutes of Health and the Department of Energy as well as private or public corporations and foundations.
