Susan Weiner, Ph.D.

Biography

Susan is responsible for managing the process to increase nominations of Brown faculty for prestigious research awards, recognitions and honors. She develops discipline-specific processes and support tools; coordinates and supports institution-wide nominations for highly prestigious national and international awards and honors; and works to highlight award winners. 

Before joining the Division of Research in June 2022, Susan was an Associate Professor of Contemporary French Studies at Yale University. She has written extensively on France in the post World War II period. Susan went on to become the first Fellowship Advisor at the University of the Pacific, working with students and their faculty mentors on applications for national and international scholarships and fellowships. She has also been a developmental editor for faculty in the humanities and qualitative social sciences. She has more than 15 years of experience in fellowship and prestigious award management and is a professional editor and college advising consultant. 

Susan holds a Ph.D. in Romance studies from Duke University and a B.A. in comparative literature from Dartmouth.
