Demystifying Industry Partnerships: Best Practices for Sponsored Research

The hybrid event will take place April 21, 2025 from 1-2 p.m.

The Division of Research will host a panel, Demystifying Industry Partnerships: Best Practices for Sponsored Research, to help faculty members learn the basics of collaborating with industry on research projects.

The panel, which will be in a hybrid format, will take place April 21, 2025 from 1-2 p.m. in the South Street Landing Fourth Floor Multipurpose Room and on Zoom.

As we navigate a rapidly evolving landscape for federal funding, it is clear that diversifying funding portfolios has never been more necessary. Brown Technology Innovations (BTI), within the Division of Research, recognizes that many faculty members want to understand what it means to engage in collaborative research with industry and/or learn best practices for working with a company.

Made up of faculty members who have formed successful academic-industry relationships, the panel will be moderated by VP for Research, Greg Hirth. Those taking part in the panel include:

Andrew Zullo, Associate Professor of Epidemiology, School of Public Health
Anubhav Tripathi, Professor of Engineering, School of Engineering
Derek Stein, Professor of Physics
Edith Mathiowitz, Professor of Medical Science and Engineering, Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine
George Konidaris, Associate Professor of Computer Science
Wafik El-Deiry, Director of the Legorreta Cancer Center,  Associate Dean for Oncologic Sciences

Brown Technology Innovations and the Corporate and Foundation Relations team will be available at South Street Landing after the panel to answer any questions.
