Love Data Week call for proposals

As part of Love Data Week (February 10-14, 2025), we are inviting the Brown University research community to submit proposals for an opportunity to spread the love of data and promote your research or projects.

Love Data Week is an international celebration of data, taking place every year during the week of Valentine’s Day. Brown’s Love Data Week is sponsored by the Division of Research (formerly the Office of the Vice President for Research) and the University Library. There will be a combination of virtual, hybrid and in-person presentations and activities during the week and they will be open to all of the Brown community.

Your participation will increase the range of perspectives on data at Brown, while also gaining visibility for your research or project. The theme this year is, “Whose Data is it Anyway?” We’re looking for presentations (either 15-minute lightning talks or longer 50-minute discussions) that address the following suggested topics:
  • Data Provenance or Lineage
  • Data Management and Sharing
  • Community and Data
  • AI and Big Data
  • Data Ownership
This list of topics is not exhaustive. Feel free to suggest a topic of your own.

Submit your proposal by Friday, November 15, 2024. The Love Data Week committee will review all proposals and notify individuals about accepted proposals by the end of November.

In addition, if your department is interested in hosting a Love Data Week event, or if you have data-related events already planned for the week that Love Data Week can co-advertise, please also submit your event through the proposal form.

Contact ori-admin@brown.edu with any questions before submitting.
