Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

What can faculty do to show their commitment to Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion?

• Recruit students and trainees from diverse backgrounds.
• Participate in campus-wide initiatives/programs such as the Race & series, larger grant efforts (i.e. NIH FIRST), IMSD program.
• Become a mentor/host lab for a Leadership Alliance/SR-EIP student.
• Participate in conferences/organizations to promote diverse student achievement such as SACNAS or ALANA .
• Join or support the Task Force on the Status of Women Faculty.
• Read the University DIAP.
• Get involved with your department’s DIAC (Diversity/Inclusion Action Committee); view the University DIAP department rubric.
• Read the Slavery & Justice report.
